Du Jiang Attends 2018 New Year Countdown & Opening Ceremony of 2nd Beijing Snow Culture and Tourism Festival

On the night of December 31, 2017, Yongdingmen Park hosted the 2018 New Year Countdown & Opening Ceremony of 2nd Beijing Snow Culture and Tourism Festival, organized by Beijing Municipal Committee on Tourism Development. CNTA Vice Chairman Du Jiang and Beijing’s Vice Mayor Wang Ning joined the 1,000-plus audience, including the diplomatic mission representing 13 countries, the city’s role models from various industries, tourism professionals, Chinese and foreign tourists, as well as local students and citizens, in welcoming the New Year.

It’s learnt that this is the 7th New-Year countdown event hosted in Beijing since 2011. The previous six editions were staged at the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall at Badaling, the Olympic Celebration Square, the Imperial Ancestral Temple in the Forbidden City, and the Olympic Green, respectively, receiving enthusiastic visitors from inside and outside Beijing, inside and outside China. The Beijing Snow Culture and Tourism Festival will last from January 1 to the Lantern Festival and organize activities under five themes: New Year celebrations, temple fairs & folk customs, winter sports, cultural exhibitions and artistic shows, and shopping & cuisines, to entertain visitors from inside and outside Beijing, boost the winter cultural and tourism market, and fuel the preparations for Beijing 2022.
