On June 18th and 20th, the original Bangzi Opera "Mother" of Jiangsu Bangzi Theater was performed in Shuyang and Nanjing. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, 50 large-scale stage plays were selected for tour. The selected Bangzi play Mother explained the feelings of sharing weal and woe and living and dying together during the Huaihai Campaign in the form of traditional opera, which touched countless audiences in performances around the country. " Yan Ling, the president of Jiangsu Bangzi Theater and the protagonist of Mother, who has performed dozens of performances so far, will burst into tears every time she sings this paragraph.
The creation of "Mother" originated from the banner of "People's Mother", a cultural relic of Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall.
Yan Ling recalled that in the summer and autumn of 2017, the Provincial Bangzi Theatre was looking for new drama themes. When she and the national first-class dance beauty Bi Qiliang went to the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall to collect the wind, she saw a red flag of "the mother of the people", which stated that "The three sons of Fan Auntie in Rizhao County died for the country. She endured the pain of losing her children, actively processed military food and rushed to make military shoes, and was awarded the title of" the mother of the people ".

In the Huaihai Campaign centered on Xuzhou, 5.43 million former migrant workers in the liberated areas made indelible contributions to the victory of the Campaign. Aunt Fan is the representative of thousands of people's mothers in Qian Qian among millions of former migrant workers, because she is real and touching, and because she is ordinary, she has universal significance. After collective discussion, the topic of Fan Auntie as a prototype to reflect the feat of supporting the Huaihai Campaign was quickly determined.
Although Fan Auntie has been dead for more than half a century, in order to enrich her image, the creative staff went to Huaita Administration and Fan Auntie's hometown for many times to investigate and collect the wind, visit the local people, and capture the details of history. It took 10 months before and after the rehearsal. "Everyone is in awe of the heroic mother and is involved in rehearsal with the spirit of craftsmanship." Young actor Zhu Qian said.
This play combines the joys and sorrows of personal destiny with the historical trend of great changes in the times. In order to strengthen the conflict of the drama and enrich the characters, Yao Jincheng, the screenwriter, added Fan Auntie's plot of going deep into the enemy camp and persuading her to surrender, and carefully crafted every line in the drama. Many viewers who have seen the play reflect that "Mother's portrayal of heroes is not stylized, but writes the simplest and true emotions of ordinary people, which is very heart-wrenching."

"Mother", which was carefully crafted from topic selection to beauty dance, music and clothing, has won the provincial "Five One Projects" Award, the provincial first prize for outstanding copyright works, the provincial Wenhua Award and the Zijin Culture and Art Festival Outstanding Drama Award, which not only started the brand of Xuzhou local opera, but also vividly spread the Huaihai Campaign spirit in frequent performances.
