"Yun Jingxiu" makes the Han statues "live" and pass on
Our reporter Wu Yun
The Han portrait stone is one of Xuzhou's "Three Wonders of the Han Dynasty", and it is also a treasure in the Chinese cultural heritage, but its protection and inheritance has always been a difficult problem. Most of the rough stones are protected by traditional methods, resulting in irreversible damage. The image database is relatively lacking, which hinders the research and promotion of Han portrait stones. Since the beginning of this year, the Internet innovation team of China University of Mining and Technology has built a digital database of more than 1 million characters of Chinese stone carvings, innovatively implemented "cloud intensive repair", built a museum of Chinese stone carvings, and built related IP cultural creativity and popular science courses, in order to inherit Xuzhou Han culture has contributed to the wisdom of science and technology and the power of youth.
The digital protection of Han portrait stone urgently needs to "speed up"
Han Dynasty stone carvings are rich in content and profound in cultural connotations, which provide important historical materials for the study of the cultural history of the Han Dynasty in my country. Mr. Zhu Haiyan from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature of China University of Mining and Technology and Mr. Zhao Difei from the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute jointly established the China University of Mining and Technology's Internet Innovation Team. Over the past ten years, they have collected thousands of rubbings of Chinese portrait stones and related video materials, and sorted out hundreds of thousands of words of related documents.
Since the beginning of this year, the team has aimed at the Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and has accelerated the speed and strength of the protection and inheritance of Han stone carvings through preparations for the competition. The 15 members have successively conducted social surveys on the research status of Han figurines protection in more than ten cities including Xuzhou, Tengzhou and Yinan. The survey results show that the traditional protection methods are used for most of the original Han portrait stones, the measures are not perfect, and the digital protection process is slow. In addition, due to perennial weathering erosion and improper operation during mining and transportation, irreversible damages such as breakage and fracture have occurred. On the other hand, most of the domestic research on Han glyphs is theoretical academic research. The digital database of Han glyphs is lacking, and the text, images and other materials are scattered, and the lack of systematic sorting has seriously hindered further research on Han glyphs. and promotion.
How to use high and new technology to protect and inherit the precious Han statues as soon as possible? Under the guidance of Mr. Zhu Haiyan, Mr. Zhao Difei and Mr. Wu Gefei from the International College, the students started to activate artificial intelligence technology and innovative means to carry on the living inheritance of Han stone carvings.
"With the gradual development of digital technology today, the use of modern scientific and technological means to establish a relatively accurate, systematic and complete database platform for my country's cultural heritage, and to develop the cultural and creative industry and conduct popular science propaganda based on its cultural core has become an important aspect of cultural relics protection work. content." Teacher Zhu Haiyan said that the digital presentation of Dunhuang art and the digital application of cultural assets of the Palace Museum have achieved remarkable results. The Internet team of China University of Mining and Technology spans various disciplines such as humanities, foreign languages, and artificial intelligence, and is fully equipped to challenge this task.
"Cloud Refinement" is clearer and more convenient to save
It is a huge project to form an electronic database with thousands of images and hundreds of thousands of words. The Internet innovation team of China University of Mining and Technology recruited more than 100 volunteers, spent more than 10,000 working hours, and together with more than 5,000 related documents from more than ten countries at home and abroad, they were electronically processed one by one, forming a Chinese portrait stone of more than 1 million words. Literature database.
The next step is the tackling stage of high and new technology. The team relies on technologies such as image digital processing, artificial intelligence, electronic informatization and computer programming to create a digital preservation path and program for Han stone portrait images. For some damaged Han statues, the team members consulted experts and then carried out detail restoration, deformation refinement, damage repair and other works. The Han portraits that have been "refined by clouds" are clear and high, and the patterns on them are lifelike, as if they were "lived", and they are more convenient to preserve.
Mr. Zhu Haiyan revealed that up to now, the team has completed the image digital processing of more than 10,000 Han portrait stones and the refinement of more than 1,000 cloud rubbings, providing solid resource support for the development of derivatives, secondary creation and the construction of digital cultural expositions. More importantly, every processed picture has copyright, which fundamentally protects the picture information and protects Chinese culture.
"Entering a new era, cultural heritage protection has entered a new stage, and the digital form is obviously easier to be accepted by the younger generation. Our team has also carried out the development of digital museums, the construction of IP cultural creation of Chinese stone carvings, and the popularization of Chinese stone carvings. development and other work.” Mr. Zhu Haiyan said that in order to promote the digital protection and cultural popularization of Han figurines and meet the needs of national and international promotion of Han figurines under the background of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Internet innovation team of China University of Mining and Technology will adhere to the concept of public welfare. , and continue to explore the path of the living inheritance of Han portrait stones.
