Xuanshui Lake Scenic Area

Xuanshui Lake scenic area of Xuzhou is Located 20 km southeast of the main city, adjacent to the new city. With the area of about 7 square kilometers, it is the core area of Jiangsu provincial tourism resort and the provincial eco-tourism demonstration zone.

The beautiful scenery, the linking between lakes and mountains, the rolling hills and the waving clear water are all in the scenic area, which is known for “green hills, clear water, marvelous stones and ancient towns”. The ecological environment with fresh air is just like a natural oxygen bar. The area is rich in forest resources and vegetation types. There are a variety of plants with more than 100 families of nearly 500 species, more than 20 kinds of animals and more than families of nearly 250 species. Forest coverage rate reaches 89.5%. In the scenic, many springs and clear rivers are here, so the Yellow River passes by here. In the scenic area, cultural heritage is rich with a large number of cultural relics. In Spring and Autumn Period, Confucius once stopped by the edge of Lvliang Hong, witnessing the grand scenery of “water falling down 30 ren and running 40 ren” and leaving the well-known “thus things flow away day and night” through the ages.

The scenic area has abundant resource in the strange stone. As early as the ancient wrote Yugong there were records of Xuzhou’s tribute of “Sibing Floating Stone”. And as the Juyuanbian Collection records that “there are beautiful stones along the Sishui” and the credit of “the stone of Lvliang is the loudest in the world”. The stone of Lvliang is famous for its “dripping, transparency and strangeness”, and is always collected by merchants, stone collectors and men of literature and writing as treasure. 

The scenic area includes Niyuan East Village, Xuanshui Lake, Ziwei Yard, Ziwei Valley rafting, Painter Village, Qishi Museum, Picking Garden, Fengguan Mountain martyrs cemetery and other core sights, matching with Xuanshui Lake Hotel, Fuzi Inn, Agritainment and other service facilities, with natural mountains and waters, old villages, the culture of Confucian and the strange stone, science education and other tourism resources as a unity. It is the leisure resort for urban residents.
