Description

The Xuzhou Museum is currently a national first-class museum, a national AAAA level tourist attraction, and the 6th National Civilized Unit. It is a comprehensive museum for the excavation, protection, display, collection, and research of historical relics in Xuzhou City. Established in April 1959, it officially opened in August 1960. Its predecessor was the Xuzhou Cultural Relics Management Committee established in 1951 and the Xuzhou Han Painting Stone Preservation Group in Jiangsu in 1956. It now covers an area of 40000 square meters, including nearly 20000 square meters of building area and 6500 square meters of exhibition area. At the same time, as a national base for research and practical education for primary and secondary school students, a national base for popularizing humanities and social sciences, and a patriotic education base in Jiangsu Province, it plays an important educational service function.
