Xuzhou Pizhou Huaihai Campaign Nianzhuan

The Nianzhuangwei Battle Memorial Hall is located on the south side of Huaihai Road in Nianzhuang Town, covering an area of 116 acres. It was built in June 1958 and completed in February 1960. It is a national AAA level tourist attraction and a key martyr memorial building protection unit in Jiangsu Province. In the center of the scenic area stands an 18.5-meter-high monument. On the front of the monument, there are four distilled gold characters inscribed by Liu Shaoqi, which read "Mighty and Everlasting"; On the left is Comrade Chen Yi's inscription, "The soldiers who sacrificed in the Huaihai Campaign will endure forever."; The back is an inscription written by the Communist Party of China's Pixian County Committee. Above the monument is a red five pointed star, surrounded by four marble reliefs: "Support", "Battle", "Charge", and "Victory". The main attractions include exhibition halls, monuments, Su Yu Square, Martyrs Cemetery area, Yinglie Lake, Weapon Square, Huang Baitao Command Post, Huang Baitao's death site, etc.
