Shengquan Lake Scenic Area in Xinyi City

The Gaotang Reservoir in Xinyi was constructed in 1958 and renamed Shengquan Lake in 2006. It covers an area of over 14000 acres and has a storage capacity of 27.3 million cubic meters. In the center of the lake, there is an artificial island covering an area of 20 acres. The total length of the dam is 5.3 kilometers. The climate of Shengquan Lake is subtropical, with a mild climate throughout the year, with neither hot summer nor cold winter. Looking out at the lake, the blue waves are lush, and people are boating on the lake. The fishing light is shining, and the cool breeze is blowing, creating an unparalleled beauty. It feels like being in a fairyland in the Yaochi Lake, making one feel relaxed and happy. Here, the lush trees, fragrant lotus flowers, harmonious chirping of insects and birds, and melodious pastoral flutes highlight the wonderful harmony between humans and nature. Shengquan Lake is rich in natural resources, with a large scale and wide water surface. The water is crystal clear, sweet and refreshing. It is commonly known as Shengquan by the people and is classified as a Class II national water quality standard. Rich in various precious freshwater fish such as goby, salmon, red croaker, crab, bass, silver fish, eel, etc. There is a sika deer breeding base built in the reservoir, and traditional techniques are used to make deer antler wine. The development of sika deer has initially formed an industry.

Shengquan Lake has a superior geographical location, 5.8 kilometers away from the urban area of Xinyi, with a 50 minute drive to Lianyungang and a 20 minute drive to Baitabu Airport. The Beijing Shanghai and Lianhuo expressways intersect here, along with Provincial Highway 323 and National Highway 205. The Suxin Expressway will also start here, and the Longhai Railway will pass through the area. After the completion of this ecotourism vacation project, it will attract a large number of tourists from Lianyungang, Suqian, Linyi, Xuzhou, Yangzhou and other places to come here for leisure and vacation.
